Lake Garda, with its Ora thermal blowing every afternoon April to October, is one of the world's best kite-foil and windsurf-freestyle destinations. Puglia (Punta Prosciutto, Torre San Giovanni) offers shallow lagoons and quality schools. The Tyrrhenian coast (Tuscany, Lazio) has more marginal but kitable spots.
