Conditions de navigation

Baratti is oriented facing southwest in the Gulf of Piombino, with perfect side-shore winds from NNE (north-northeast) and SSW (south-southwest). The water is generally chop to small waves, independent of tides. The launch area is of medium size on a large grassy prato downwind, perfect for launching safely, before entering the water on fine sand.

The navigation area extends offshore in the gulf, with enough space for freeride or light waves. Caution in summer where bathers invade the beach and water near the shore. The best sessions occur with stable side-on wind, avoiding the onshore from the south which makes the spot choppy. Abundant parking and direct access facilitate trips back and forth.
