Posada beach, located on the northeast coast of Sardinia, is a long stretch of fine sand awarded multiple times with the 5 sails of Legambiente. It is a dedicated kite spot with a fixed school on the beach, perfect for regular sessions thanks to its shallow water and constant thermal winds.
Near the bay between Budoni and La Caletta, accessible in 35 minutes from Olbia airport, this place attracts riders for its relaxed atmosphere and conditions suitable for all levels. A lagoon in the background allows for calm activities on windless days.
Posada Su Tiriarzu is a preferred choice for locals and schools like Posada Surf or Nido Surf for its dedicated space and safety.

Posada beach is oriented northeast, ideal for north/northeast winds in side-on perfect for beginners, and south/southeast (Scirocco) in side-shore powerful for waves. The water is generally flat thanks to the sheltered bay, with wave conditions when the Scirocco blows strongly from the southeast.
Launching is easy on the wide fine sandy beach, with a dedicated launch area in front of the Posada Surf or Nido Beach school. The navigation area extends several hundred meters offshore, always shallow water near the shore, perfect for progression.
Local thermals ensure almost daily wind between 12 and 18 knots, making the spot reliable all year round. Watch out for swimmers in high season, but the kite area is marked. Tides have little impact, and the water remains navigable at all times.
The ideal conditions are a thermal wind of 12-20 knots from the north/northeast for flat side-on, or southeast Scirocco for fun waves.
The turquoise water is clear and shallow near the shore, with a sandy bottom. The water surface goes from flat in thermal to light chop or wave under Scirocco.
Currents are weak in the protected bay of Posada. Mediterranean tides are minimal, with no major impact on navigation.
Opt for sizes of 9 to 12 m² in light thermal, and 7 to 9 m² under stronger Scirocco.
The main wind comes from the north/northeast side-on, or from the south/southeast (Scirocco) for more intense sessions. Local thermals generate a constant breeze of 12 to 18 knots almost every day, making Posada reliable.
The Scirocco from the southeast is the star wind, unmatched for waves.
The Mediterranean climate of Posada offers warm summers around 25-30°C and mild winters around 10-15°C. Rainfall is rare, especially in summer, with more than 25 windy days per month thanks to thermals.
It is navigable all year round, with a peak in summer for the consistency of thermal wind.
The depth is gradual with a sandy bottom everywhere. You can stand up to 100-150 meters from the shore, ideal for beginners.
The water reaches 22-26°C in summer, and drops to 15-18°C in winter. A shorty wetsuit is sufficient from June to September.
