The area mainly attracts riders looking for a place without too many people, even in high season.

La Maddalena Spiaggia beach is oriented west-southwest, making it ideal for west and southwest side-on or side-shore winds. The water surface is generally flat to light chop when the wind is well established, perfect for freestyle or freeride.
Launching is done directly from the sand, with no obstacles, and a wide take-off area in the center of the beach. The navigation areas extend over more than a kilometer offshore, but stay to the south to avoid bathymetric areas closer to the shore to the north.
In case of strong onshore wind from the south, the water can become choppy, while offshore winds from the northeast flatten everything. Be cautious of sporadic fishermen in high season; the spot is downwind to the south, with easy relaunch on dry sand.
Ideal conditions are winds from west to southwest between 18 and 28 knots, side-on, for a mirror-like water surface and consistent power.
The water state varies little with the tides, remaining flat in side-shore wind and slightly choppy in onshore. The water is clear and shallow near the shore.
The currents are weak to moderate along the coast, influenced by the tides of the Mediterranean Sea which have reduced amplitudes, less than 30 cm.
No major channel, but a slight current to the south in case of strong wind.
Opt for kite sizes of 9 to 12 m² in typical conditions, and 7 to 9 m² when the wind strengthens above 25 knots.
The wind regime is dominated by the Maestral (northwest) in summer, blowing regularly at 15-25 knots in the afternoon. Thermal winds pick up around noon and weaken at sunset.
In winter, episodes of Scirocco (southeast) bring stronger winds, up to 30 knots, but with more clouds.
The Mediterranean climate of Sardinia offers mild temperatures year-round, with warm summers around 28-32°C and mild winters around 12-18°C. Rainfall is rare, concentrated in autumn.
The Capoterra region enjoys exceptional sunshine, with more than 300 days of sun per year.
The depth is gradual with a sandy bottom. You can stand up to about 100 meters from the shore, ideal for relaunching.
Water temperatures range between 14-16°C in winter and 22-25°C in summer. A 3/2 wetsuit is recommended from October to April.
