Spiaggia La Cinta
Italy · Sardaigne
Spiaggia La Cinta in San Teodoro, Sardinia, is a long sandy beach bordered by a pine forest, just a few minutes from the town center. It is a popular spot for kiters due to its large area dedicated to kitesurfing and its proximity to Olbia airport.
The spot is located in the middle of the beach, with a school zone and a free zone. Two kitesurfing schools are set up there, and in September, events like the Extreme Fun Games attract riders for competitions.
The beach is family-friendly in summer, with easy access on foot from San Teodoro or by car from Olbia in 30 minutes.
Historical averages by month — not a live forecast.
The beach is oriented east-west, with a dedicated kitesurf zone in the middle to avoid bathers. The east (Scirocco) and northeast (Grecale) winds are perfect side-on shore, consistent and enhanced by thermals, creating small waves for surfing (rights with Scirocco, lefts with Grecale).
The Mistral from the northwest is offshore and flattens the water surface for flat, ideal for freestyle. The Libeccio from the southwest side-off is great for jumps and tricks. Easy launch on shallow sand, take-off in the kite beach zone with ample space.
Near the port to the south, the water is more flat for freestyle. No obstacles, shallow access, but upwinder possible in summer. Independent of tides, shuttle boat in season from Pischera for €4 round trip to the kite zone.
