Location
Detailed information
The spot works ideally with a NW or WNW wind, coming in side-on relative to the north-facing beach, creating excellent average waves and a flat area protected by the long pier. The launch is on a small stone beach, so plan to wear shoes to avoid sharp shells and rocks.
The navigation area is small, with limited take-off/landing; avoid getting close to the wind turbines at the beach. With good ocean swell and strong wind, nice sets can be found, but the water remains choppy outside the sheltered area. Tides have little influence, it works at all hours.
Local peculiarity: the frontal wind from Atlantic depressions brings strength year-round, but the best sessions require sustained wind and swell for the waves to form well behind the pier.
