flatThe NWK spot is oriented on the Østerå river, with a sheltered water surface that works well in west to northwest winds (side-shore from the right). The launch is directly from the grassy beach at the club, with a wide and obstacle-free take-off area.
The navigation area is marked in red for sprints and extends further for long distances, offering a safe and flat space even in strong winds. Be cautious of race markings during events; otherwise, the water remains flat to light chop depending on wind strength.
No strong tide influence due to the river, but the current can vary with river flow. The best runs are made by sailing upwind towards the estuary for more space, then an easy downwind return to the club. Perfect for freeride and slalom, with few waves due to the natural shelter.
Ideal conditions are side-shore winds from NW to W between 12 and 25 knots, for a smooth and powerful water surface.
