The Platja del Mareny de Barraquetes, located in Mareny de Barraquetes in the Valencian Community, is a long and wide sandy beach at the mouth of a small watercourse. It is a private spot managed by a club in summer, appreciated for its large launch area and friendly atmosphere.
There is plenty of space to ride, especially off-season, with a beach that also attracts tourists in summer. Locals regularly practice kitesurfing when the east and northeast winds pick up.
The spot is known for its typical Mediterranean setting, with nearby dunes and generally calm water near the shore.

These directions bring a chop water surface with small to medium waves, ideal for progressing in freestyle or freeride. The navigation area extends offshore from the mouth, avoiding the crowded northern part with swimmers in summer.
Launching takes place on a large sandy beach, with plenty of space to take off and land the kite, even in moderate winds. In summer, the spot is reserved for the club with a dedicated channel, off-season it is more free but without lifeguards. Conditions do not depend on tides, the water surface remains constant with a gradual bottom.
Local peculiarity: in high season, strict restrictions to coexist with tourists, navigation limited to the club area. Best in autumn-winter for long sessions with eastern thermals stable 70% of the time under high pressure.
Ideal conditions with winds NE to E at 15-25 knots, stable and side-on for a rideable water surface all day. Perfect in autumn to combine strength and free space.
Water surface in chop with small to medium waves, smoother near the shore in side-shore winds. Generally clear water, sometimes disturbed by freshwater outflows from the arrozales.
The current is generally weak near the mouth but can strengthen with the tides in the watercourse channel. Tides have little impact on navigation, with no strong dependency.
Be cautious of irrigation river outlets from nearby rice fields that can create localized drift zones.
For typical winds of 15-25 knots, opt for sizes of 9 to 12m² for freeride, or 7-9m² for busier days. Adjust according to weight and level.

The climate is Mediterranean, with hot and dry summers around 25-30°C and mild winters at 10-15°C. Spring and autumn offer pleasant temperatures for riding without a wetsuit during the day.
In summer, blue skies and constant sunshine, but be cautious of restrictions. Off-summer, more wind but wetsuit recommended from November to April.
The depth is gradual with a clean sandy bottom. You can stand a good distance from the shore, ideal for beginners in shallow water.
In summer, the water reaches 22-25°C, shorty sufficient. From November to April, around 14-18°C, 4/3 wetsuit recommended. Spring-autumn at 18-22°C.
