El Perelló

The Playa de El Perellonet, located in El Perelló in the Valencian Community, is a long sandy beach facing the Mediterranean. It is a popular spot for kitesurfing due to its generous space and reliable thermal wind in summer.

There is a designated area for navigation, especially active in June, July, and August. The beach is crowded with tourists in summer, but riders have their dedicated space.

The setting is typical of the Valencian coast, with rice fields nearby and a relaxed atmosphere outside the high season.

The beach is oriented east-west, making winds from NE, ENE, and E side-on perfect for navigation. We navigate in the southern part of the desembocadura, in a designated area dedicated to kitesurfing, especially active from June to September. The launch is directly on the large sandy beach, with a spacious take-off area.

The water conditions vary from flat to choppy, with small to medium waves when the wind picks up. Conditions do not depend on tides, you can ride all day. In summer, the thermal rises in the afternoon with high pressure on the east coast, reliable 70% of the time. Off-season, it is possible but without organized rescue.

Free navigation in the public canal, but be careful of other prohibited areas in summer. The area is small in high season, with many swimmers nearby.

The ideal conditions are with winds NE to E between 15 and 25 knots, side-on at the beach. Perfect for the summer thermal in the afternoon.

État de la mer

Water conditions are flat to choppy in light winds, with small to medium waves when it picks up. Easily rideable at all tide stages.

Courants marins

Currents are generally weak on the beach. Watch out for possible dangerous rips while surfing, especially with east swell.

No tide impact on navigation, but tides slightly influence the overall conditions.

Taille de kite recommandée

Opt for sizes of 9 to 11m² in light thermal, 7 to 9m² when it picks up. Adjust according to your weight and level.

Météo & vent

The dominant wind comes from the NE, ENE, and E, with a summer thermal that picks up in the afternoon under high pressure. It blows regularly from June to September on 70% of the days, with a force around 15-25 knots.

Off-season, east and southeast winds work well year-round at this spot.

Climat

The Mediterranean climate offers warm summers around 25-30°C and mild winters around 10-15°C. The best months for kitesurfing are April to October, peaking in June-September due to the thermal winds.

Winter is decent with cooler winds, but a wetsuit is recommended from autumn to spring.

Profondeur

Progressive depth with a sandy bottom. You can stand for a long time from the shore due to the gentle slope.

Température de l’eau

In summer, the water reaches 22-25°C, a shorty or lycra is sufficient. Autumn-spring around 15-20°C, 3/2mm wetsuit recommended.
