Kloster is a kitesurfing spot located in the northwest of the Ringkøbing Fjord, in central Denmark. It is a quiet place with no holiday homes around, featuring a navigation area marked by red buoys over 800m x 1200m. There are tables, benches, a cozy cabin, toilets, and showers to fully enjoy the session.
Easy access via Baggersvej between Søndervig and Ringkøbing, with parking on site. The spot is popular among locals for its shallow water everywhere, less than 1.50m deep, ideal for beginners or training in perfect flat.
Close to Søndervig for a summer vibe, it is a paradise for riders seeking tranquility and consistency by the North Sea.

flatflatThe Kloster spot offers an exceptional flat water surface thanks to its shallow lagoon of the Ringkøbing Fjord, with less than 1.50m depth over a vast area of 800m x 1200m marked by red buoys. The launch is done through a small sandy opening after setting up on the grass, and the launch area is limited, so be vigilant for other users.
Usable by all wind orientations, but optimal in WNW and ESE for perfect cross-on or side-shore; winds from NW to E give variable side-off. No tidal influence on conditions, water always usable. The dominant northwest (15-25 kts) creates a steady side-shore from the beach facing the fjord.
Free navigation in the marked area, Surffarm school nearby for gear or lessons. Calm water near the shore for beginners, more dynamic offshore for straps and freestyle.
Ideal conditions with winds WNW or ESE at 15-25 knots for perfect cross-on and maximum flat. All directions work thanks to the lagoon, but side-shore NW dominant ensures steady power.
The water state is ultra-flat, like a mirror, thanks to the shallow depth and shelter of the fjord. Few waves, occasionally light chop with strong winds, but smooth water ideal for freestyle and foil.
Currents are weak in the closed lagoon of the Ringkøbing Fjord. No influential tides on navigability, no major channel to watch out for.
