Sa Marina is a legendary kitesurf spot located in the bay of Pollensa, in the north of Mallorca, between Port d'Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa. This narrow sandy beach attracts a crowd of riders for its constant wind and shallow waters, offering a colorful display of kites in the sky.
The spot is very lively with many practitioners, kite schools, and equipment rentals nearby. The view of the Tramuntana mountains and the bay is stunning, even though the beach lacks infrastructure and a busy road runs behind it.
It is a popular place for locals and tourists for its easy access and friendly atmosphere, perfect for watching or getting started in kitesurf.

The wind is generally onshore coming from the north or northwest, stable and thermal, ideal for sailing in the protected bay. The sailing area extends about 800 meters to the left from the PortBlue club, with a large standing area for beginner safety. Launching is easy on the narrow beach, but the setup area is a bit tight, so equipment should be stored during breaks.
The water surface is flat and shallow near the shore, perfect for learning and progressing, even if small waves form with light wind. The best times are in the morning in spring and fall for reliable light wind sessions. Several schools offer courses from beginner to advanced, with rentals on-site.
Be cautious of the crowd on windy days, the spot is very busy but without major dangers at sea thanks to the large safety area.
Ideal conditions are an onshore north/northwest wind of 10-20 knots, stable and thermal, especially in the morning in spring/fall for a mirror-like water surface.
The water surface is generally flat with shallow waters ideal for freestyle and learning. Small waves may appear with light wind, but nothing challenging.
Currents are weak in the protected bay of Pollensa. Tides have a limited impact, with a modest range that does not significantly alter the sailing conditions.
Opt for sizes 9 to 12 m² suitable for the typical light wind of the spot. Beginners can use larger kites like 11-14 m² for stability.
The main wind is thermal and onshore from the north/northwest, consistent especially in spring and fall in the morning. The strength is often light wind, perfect for calm sessions but less so for big weather enthusiasts. The probability of wind remains moderate compared to windier spots.
The Mediterranean climate of Mallorca offers pleasant temperatures year-round, with hot summers around 25-30°C and mild winters around 15°C. The main season runs from June to August, but April, May, September, and October are optimal for kitesurf with less heat and good wind.
Rainfall is rare, especially in summer, making the spot reliable for regular sessions.
The waters are shallow with a large standing area near the beach, gradually sandy bottom. You can stand a good distance from the shore, perfect for beginners.
In summer (June-August), the water reaches 22-25°C, comfortable in a shorty. In spring/fall, expect 18-22°C, and in winter around 15-17°C.
