Son Serra de Marina beach is oriented northeast, making it perfect for northeast to east winds in side-on or side-shore, offering consistent power without too much shorebreak. The navigation area extends about 1 to 2 km offshore, with easy launching directly from the fine sand, even for beginners.
Launching takes place on the wide and clear beach, but be careful of swimmers in high season. The water surface varies between moderate chop and small waves, smoother in side-on wind, but can become choppy with prolonged sessions. Tides have little impact here, the beach remains accessible in low and high water.
Local feature: the constant wind of the Mallorcan Tramontane often blows in the afternoon, ideal for freeride or strapless sessions. Avoid days with too strong mistral that make the water surface choppy.
Ideal in winds from northeast to east between 15 and 25 knots, side-on for a clean and powerful water surface. Perfect for freeride or light wave sessions.
The water surface presents chop with small to medium waves in onshore wind, flatter in pure side-shore. Clean sandy bottom, moderate swell that makes the spot fun for all levels.
Currents are generally weak along the beach but can strengthen near the rocky points at the ends. Mediterranean tides are weak, less than 30 cm, with no major impact on navigation.
