Flag Beach, located 10 minutes from Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura, is the most popular kitesurfing spot on the island. This white sandy beach facing Lobos Island offers turquoise water and a perfect setting for riding or relaxing with sunbeds and umbrellas available.
Close to the city center, you can easily go for a drink or shopping after your session. It's a lively place with kite schools on-site, ideal for progressing in a protected environment from the big northern swells.
The beach attracts riders and locals for its consistent wind and friendly atmosphere, although it fills up quickly in summer.

chopFlag Beach is oriented northeast, with wind often side-on or side-off coming from the north or northwest, perfect for stable sessions. The water surface is generally flat thanks to the protection of Lobos Island which blocks northern swells, but it can become wavy with powerful northeast swells.
Launching is done directly from the sandy beach, but it is narrow especially in high season when it is crowded. The navigation area is wide with a part dedicated to kiters, separated from windsurfers: stay in the marked kite area to avoid conflicts. Launching requires caution due to the crowd and bathers in summer.
The waters are shallow at the edge, ideal for jumps and freestyle, with a flat inside and a more choppy or wavy outside depending on conditions. Be careful of the reef that sometimes surfaces, and plan for a rescue boat with local schools for advanced sessions.
Ideal conditions are a side-on to side-off wind of 18-25 knots from the north or northwest, with flat water for freestyle or small waves for strapless.
The water surface is mostly flat to chop on the inside, with short waves possible on the outside from northeast swell. Sandy bottom with some reef areas, crystal clear turquoise water.
Currents are generally weak thanks to the protection of Lobos, but they can strengthen with the outgoing tide or strong winds. Tides are moderate, with a tidal range of about 2 meters, having little influence on navigability.
For typical winds of 15-30 knots, plan for sizes of 9 to 12m² for intermediates, and 7 to 10m² for busy days.
The wind regime is very reliable thanks to the Northeast Trade Winds, blowing almost every day from April to September with strengths of 15-30 knots. Main direction N-NW, side-on for the beach, with explosive sessions in high season.
Off-season, the wind remains consistent but a bit lighter, ideal for intermediates.
Fuerteventura enjoys a dry subtropical climate year-round, with mild temperatures averaging between 20°C and 28°C. Winters are mild around 18-22°C, while summers rise to 25-30°C, perfect for sessions in shorts or lycra.
Little rain, especially from October to April, but the wind more than compensates for kitesurfing.
The depth is gradual with a mostly sandy bottom and some rocks. You can stand for a long time from the shore, perfect for waterstarts.
The water remains warm year-round between 18°C in winter and 22-24°C in summer. A 3/2mm wetsuit is sufficient off-season, shorty in summer.
