The spot of Costa Calma Playa offers a flat water surface most of the time, perfect for freeride and freestyle. The wind generally comes from the northeast to east, providing a side-shore or side-on orientation relative to the southwest-facing beach, making navigation stable and predictable.
Launching is easy on the spacious sandy beach, with a wide and uncluttered launch area outside peak hours. The navigation areas extend several hundred meters offshore, but one must remain vigilant near the hotels to avoid swimmers.
With the tides, the water remains flat to choppy, smoother at high tide where depth increases. The wind is consistent from 15 to 28 knots in season, sometimes a bit gusty due to nearby resorts, but ideal for progressing without risking going too far.
