Plage de Térénez
France · Bretagne
The beach of Térénez, located at the exit of Plougasnou in the Morlaix Bay in northern Brittany, is a popular spot for water sports enthusiasts. There is a nautical center that animates half of the space in summer, with a port right next to it and restaurants along the beach.
It is a calm place with a sandy and pebbly beach, perfect for freeride kitesurfing or wingfoiling. Locals appreciate its generally calm water, ideal for beginners when the wind is well oriented.
The setting is typical of the Térénez Peninsula, with easy access by road and free parking nearby.

The spot works well with a wind from southwest to northwest, the best being west side-shore which crosses perfectly over the beach oriented towards the bay. At low tide, the water is calm and flat near the shore, perfect for launching and taking off on the spacious beach.
The navigation area extends in front of the beach in the sheltered bay, with enough space to maneuver without going too far from the shore. Be careful in summer, the nautical center occupies part of the beach, so launch rather in the free areas towards the port or the end.
At high tide, the water rises on the beach but remains navigable for freeride, with a wider water surface. The west wind is the most consistent here, side-on from the left, and the spot is protected from strong north winds by the peninsula.
