Trébeurden

The Tresmeur beach in Trébeurden, on the Pink Granite Coast in Brittany, is a wide and well-exposed beach popular with local surfers and kitesurfers. Located near Goas Treiz beach and the harbor, it offers a natural setting with easy access and a relaxed atmosphere.

It is a freeride spot suitable for kiting, especially when the wind comes from the southwest, which is rare in the region. Morning sessions are often the best, with space to ride without too much crowd.

The area is authentic, with nice cafes at the harbor just a stone's throw away to relax after the session.

Location

Detailed information

Tresmeur beach is oriented west-northwest, making it ideal for a side-on or side-shore wind coming from the southwest or west, which is rare but consistent in Brittany. With southwest wind, it’s pure flat freeride, without waves, perfect for jibes and controlled jumps. The water entry is directly on the sandy beach, wide at low tide, with a good launch area in the center to avoid the edges.

At low tide, the space is generous, you can stand far out and the water remains safe to land the wing without risk. At high tide, the rocky jetty comes very close, making landings tense and navigation limited, better to avoid. The navigation areas are central, staying away from the northern rocks and the southern jetty. The current remains weak except near the channels, and significant tides (up to 8-9m) completely change the situation.

Local feature: it’s a safe spot for intermediates, but always check the tides beforehand, as space disappears quickly at high tide. No crowd even in season, and the wind is often more thermal in the morning.
