Plage des Amiets
France · Bretagne
The Amiets beach, located in Roguennic near Cléder in Brittany, is a beautiful stretch of white sand bordered by dunes. It is a very popular kitesurf spot among locals and passing riders, with easy parking at the entrance facing the sea.
The Clédérois sailing club is located on-site and offers activities such as windsurfing or paddleboarding. The beach is supervised in summer and provides direct access to the water, ideal for a relaxed session.
Surrounded by a rocky bar, it attracts windsurfers, wingfoilers, and kitesurfers at all tides.
Historical averages by month — not a live forecast.
The spot works well with a west wind that comes side-on to side-shore relative to the northwest-oriented beach, creating nice waves on the outer rocky bar. With a northeast wind, it is more offshore and the water surface becomes flat protected by the bay's configuration.
Launching is done directly from the wide and easy sandy beach, with a take-off area at the water's edge near the parking lot. The navigation area extends in front of the beach, but caution is needed beyond the rocky bar where waves can rise up to 4 meters in heavy west to northwest swell.
At low tide, sandbanks emerge and the water surface is more technical with pebbles appearing; at high tide, it is smoother for surfing and longboarding, but perfect for kiting year-round. Wind peaks are regular in northern Brittany, and the spot gets crowded on good days, so anticipate space for take-off.
