Historical averages by month — not a live forecast.
The U-shaped bay offers a large protected riding area, with easy access directly from the sandy beach. In winter, S/SW onshore winds up to 25 knots create perfect conditions for wave riding, with small to moderate waves outside the bay. In summer, the Meltemi from the N blows offshore and gusty at 15-25 knots, producing a flat to choppy water surface ideal for beginners who can walk up to 50m from the shore to relaunch.
The launch area is wide and obstacle-free, but you must stay in the bay to avoid drifting towards swimming areas in summer. Conditions are frequently gusty, especially with the Meltemi, which requires experience to anticipate. There is no major tidal influence, and the spot works well all day with side-on to side-off wind.
