Plage du Lido
France · Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
The Lido beach, located west of Sanary-sur-Mer in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, forms with the Dorée beach the largest beach in the municipality. It is a monitored fine sand spot during the season, with suitable facilities such as chairs for the water access of people with reduced mobility.
The place is appreciated for its ease of access and its water activities, including kitesurfing for intermediates and experts. Equipment rentals are available, and there is a family-friendly atmosphere in the summer.
Close to the Bandol road, the beach offers parking spaces and remains clean thanks to its excellent water quality certification.
Historical averages by month — not a live forecast.
The Lido beach is oriented west, which favors a side-shore or side-on wind when it comes from the west or southwest, ideal for kitesurfing. Water access is directly from the fine sand, easy even for intermediates, but beware of the breakwaters that protect the area.
The navigation area is wide in front of the beach, with a water surface that goes from flat in light wind to chop with gusts or south swells. Launching is done on the beach itself, at the edge to avoid the summer crowd. Tides have little impact here, but at low tide the bottom remains navigable without rocks close to the shore.
Local feature: in summer, lifeguard supervision from 10 am to 7 pm requires respecting swimming zones. The spot works well with strong west wind, like the 45 km/h sideshore reported, but avoid large east swells that make the water surface rough and impractical for kite.
