La Seyne-sur-Mer

The Sablettes beach in La Seyne-sur-Mer, located on the isthmus connecting the city to Saint-Mandrier, offers a large stretch of fine sand between the Toulon harbor and the Mediterranean Sea. It is a popular spot for families due to its supervision and various water activities, with a warm atmosphere in both summer and winter.

The open bay delights sliding enthusiasts, whether in wing foil, surfing, or water skiing. There are bases for thrilling sensations, and the natural environment invites relaxation after a session.

Close to Toulon, it is an accessible spot for a day by the Grande Bleue, with terrace cafés and spectacular sunsets.

Location

Detailed information

The Sablettes beach has a southwest orientation, with wind often sideshore when coming from the northeast or east, ideal for stable navigation in the open bay. The launch area is directly from the fine sand, wide and easily accessible, with a clear take-off zone in the center of the beach away from walkers.

The water surface is generally chop due to the east/southeast swell entering the bay, but it remains navigable in moderate wind. Navigation areas extend offshore to avoid bathers and towed activities like buoys or parasailing, concentrated near the Saint-Elme port.

Be cautious of areas reserved for kiting in the summer season, marked to coexist with other users. At high tide, the space expands, but the current remains weak; prefer the beach swell for freeride or moderate freestyle sessions.
