Six-Four-les-Plages

Le Brusc in Six-Fours-les-Plages is a kitesurf and windsurf spot located on the Var coast, facing the Mediterranean Sea. It offers a spacious water area for freeride, with a small sandy beach about 130 meters long.

The spot works well from southwest to northwest, with the best being northwest. Be careful, kitesurfing is prohibited in summer due to bathers and the reserved area.

The launch is technical due to the rocks and the breakwater, requiring a minimum intermediate level.

Location

Detailed information

The spot works perfectly with a side-on to side-off wind coming from southwest to northwest, ideally northwest which is the best for smooth sailing. The wind is often thermal or frontal, with the Mistral blowing strongly from the west or southwest, making the water side-shore on the east-facing beach. The riding area is wide once launched, with plenty of space on the water for freeride, but avoid drifting towards the beach on the right where there are many bathers in season.

The launch is from the small sandy beach, but it is complicated: fine sand with rocks and breakwater nearby, so self-launching is risky, better with a helper. The launch area is small, crowded in summer with saturated parking. Tides have little impact, coefficients are low (0.3 to 0.5m), the spot remains navigable at all hours. In strong winds, the chop rises and sailing becomes physical, with small waves possible.

Local peculiarity: watch out for the marked swimming area in summer, kitesurfing is prohibited by prefectural order from June to September. In winter, it is quieter and windier.
