It is the venue for the Grand Prix Guyader, perfect for taking your first runs safely, especially with a North-West to North wind. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, ideal for kite schools.

The fine sandy beach offers a tranquil setting, sheltered from the Atlantic swell, and is also suitable for wing foiling for beginners.

Location

Detailed information

The spot mainly works with a North-West to North wind, which comes in a side-shore perfect for kiting, with an ideal orientation from West-South-West to North according to local sources. The launch is directly from the fine sandy beach, in shallow water at first, which is great for lessons and beginner riders. The navigation area is wide and safe in the bay, well sheltered from Atlantic swells except in July-August.

The water surface is generally flat to light chop, smoother at low tide, and launching is done on the wide sand without issues. With a South-West wind, it is the best orientation with regular thermal, but the wind can be irregular from pure North. Schools like those in Douarnenez bay hold classes year-round, with a stunning view of Douarnenez from the water.

Be cautious of wind irregularity from the North sectors, and prefer mid-tide to high for more space. It is a versatile spot for kiting and winging, with few people outside the high season.
