Crozon

Kersiguénou beach, located on the Crozon peninsula in Finistère, offers a stunning view of the Tas de Pois at the tip of Penhir. It is a popular spot for kitesurfing enthusiasts due to its vast expanse of fine sand and wind exposure.

Right next to Goulien beach, it allows for calm sessions year-round, whether for surfing or kiting. Locals often come here for its easy access and relaxed atmosphere.

Open to all levels with caution, it is especially popular when the wind comes from the south or southwest.

Location

Detailed information

Kersiguénou beach is oriented west-southwest, making it a perfect spot for a side-on to side-shore wind coming from the south or southwest. With a SW wind, as observed during sessions in January and May, it blows directly onto the beach but can become irregular, quickly shifting from 18 to 40 knots.

Launching is easy on the fine sand, with no apparent rocks at the edge. The launch area is wide and clear, ideal for kites. To navigate, stay offshore from the neighboring Goulien beach to avoid stronger waves; here, the water is generally choppy with soft small waves, perfect for freestyle or beginner wave riding.

Depending on the tides, at low tide the edge is more exposed with standing possible far out, while at high tide the water rises quickly but remains navigable. In case of west swell, move closer to the center of the bay for more stable wind. The best days are those with south wind, avoiding the turbulence from the surrounding cliffs.
