Pléneuf-Val-André

The Vallées beach, located in Pléneuf-Val-André on the Emerald Coast, is a stretch of fine sand frequented by walkers and water sports enthusiasts off-season. Vallées beach offers direct access to the sea and wide sandy areas depending on the tides. Tourist attendance is marked in summer, but the beach remains appreciated by locals for its landscapes and coastal environment.

The area is served by local schools and clubs that operate mainly off-season. Vallées beach benefits from good accessibility from the center of Pléneuf-Val-André and nearby facilities such as parking and coastal paths.

Location

Detailed information

Kitesurfing at Vallées beach is prohibited from June 15 to September 15 inclusive under a municipal order, so outings should be planned outside this period. Winds from west to northwest often blow side-on to side-shore relative to the beach, offering comfortable sessions when the sea is not choppy. Launching takes place on the sand; prefer clear areas and identify the monitored swimming zone in summer to stay out of it.

The water level varies greatly with the tides: at low tide, the beach reveals a wide band of sand and the water is shallower, with chop near the shore; at high tide, the water rises and can form more glassy sections protected from the wind by the coast. There is a marked channel near the town (used to cross the 300-meter band to authorized areas), pay attention to the signage and do not navigate in the 300-meter zone without permission.

Recommended navigation areas are open sectors without rocks or structures nearby; avoid the northern sector if rocks are exposed. Local clubs (kitesurfing schools and clubs) can indicate the best take-off and landing areas and pay attention to prohibited zones during the summer.
