Binic

The Avant-Port beach in Binic, nestled at the end of the docks in Brittany, is accessed through a tunnel carved into the cliff during the war. It is a discreet spot appreciated by local kiters for its clean water at low tide. The atmosphere is calm, away from the bustling city center.

The spot offers a good balance between accessibility and side-shore wind conditions. There are flat areas between the waves when the swell rises. It's ideal for progressing without too many people, except in high season.

Location

Detailed information

The ideal wind comes from the NE, ENE, or E, providing perfect side-shore conditions on this west-facing beach. At low tide, the water is very clean near the shore with excellent flat areas between the waves, and the bigger the swell, the better it is for riding. The water entry is directly on the sandy beach, but you may need to walk up to two kilometers to reach the water at low tide.

The navigation area extends along the coast, while being attentive to the tides that completely change the spot. At mid-tide or high tide, the water becomes choppy with a bit more movement. Launching takes place on the wide beach at low tide, always checking the free space around the tunnel and the docks. In summer, green algae can hinder water entry, and the spot is crowded in July-August.
