Denneville

Denneville beach, located on the coast of the English Channel in Normandy, offers a natural setting typical of the small seaside resorts of Cotentin. It is a spot appreciated by locals for its consistent wind and tranquil atmosphere.

The beach is wide and sandy, with easy access from the village when the seasonal parking lots are open. It is a convenient place for local sessions and small group schools.

Location

Detailed information

The wind often blows from west to northwest, which gives a rather side-on to side-shore wind relative to the main beach. Launching takes place on the sand on a large open beach, with easy take-off areas when the tide is low and the beach is wide. The main navigation area is located in front of the central beach; it is better to avoid the northern part where rock banks and waves may be present. Depending on the tide, the water surface alternates between flat and areas with residual swell from the open sea. Local schools and riders generally use the central area for take-off and landing, leaving space for walkers and bathers in summer. In strong winds, there may be currents along the bay's edges, and caution is needed near the access passes to the port or nearby channels.
