Long Beach
États-Unis · Massachusetts
Long Beach, located on the Nahant coast north of Boston, offers a peaceful and preserved setting. This kilometer of sandy barrier, also known as Nahant Beach, is part of the Nahant Beach reserve and is appreciated for walking, swimming, and relaxing activities. Its proximity to the city makes it easily accessible while remaining remarkably calm and unpolluted.
This spot is popular among local riders for its consistent wind, especially in spring and autumn, when the waters are still warm and the beaches are empty. The atmosphere is laid-back, ideal for a kitesurfing session without the pressure of large tourist spots.
Historical averages by month — not a live forecast.
The prevailing wind is Northwest (NW) and West (W), providing a side-shore orientation relative to the beach, allowing for a natural take-off towards the water. The water surface is mainly flat with some chop and small waves, especially at low tide, which is the recommended tide for kitesurfing. At high tide, the water becomes more choppy with more pronounced waves.
The navigation area extends over the kilometer of beach, with an easy launch on the soft sand. The take-off usually occurs from the southern part of the beach, where the space is wider. A local feature is the presence of Egg Rock (or Egg Rock) in the background, which can serve as a visual landmark but should be avoided for navigation.
