Amoudara

Amoudara is a beach located in the Gulf of Heraklion, on the northern coast of Crete, Greece. It is a beautiful kitesurfing spot for surfers of all levels, offering shallow waters, fine brown sand, and consistent winds. The beach is sandy and wide, with a large launch area between windsurfers and bathers, making it easy for riders to access.
The proximity to the airport and the city of Heraklion makes Amoudara a very accessible spot, ideal for kitesurfers passing through or on a layover. The spot operates from June to September, with classic onshore winds, and is particularly well-winded in summer thanks to the Meltemi, the dominant thermal wind in the region.

Amoudara is a beach oriented north, which fully receives the Meltemi (wind from NW to NNW). The wind conditions are onshore, meaning the wind comes from the sea towards the beach.
