Weidefeld is a kitesurfing spot located near Kappeln in Schleswig-Holstein, in northern Germany. It is a place favored by experienced riders for its consistent waves and authentic atmosphere away from the crowds.
The spot is characterized by a very steep launch right from the start, making it a location reserved for advanced riders. During the summer, the beach becomes very crowded with bathers and tourists, which can complicate sessions.

The bottom at Weidefeld is made up of sand. The depth increases gradually from the beach, allowing for a progressive launch. However, the very steep slope of the spot means that the depth increases quickly, and one can only stand for a short distance before reaching deeper waters.
The water temperature varies significantly with the seasons. In spring (April-May), the water is between 5-10°C, requiring a full winter wetsuit. In summer (June-August), the water reaches 15-20°C, allowing for a short wetsuit or shorty. In autumn (September-October), the water drops back to 10-15°C, necessitating an autumn wetsuit. A wetsuit is needed practically all year round at Weidefeld due to the Nordic climate.
