The ideal conditions are with winds from S, SSW, SW, side-shore, at a medium strength to enjoy the flat water.
The state of the water is generally flat and shallow, with a shallow bottom everywhere. It can become choppy with sustained wind, but remains accessible.
Being a lake, there are no sea currents or tides. The water remains stable without tide influence.
For typical winds, plan for sizes of 8 to 12 m² depending on the strength, suitable for all levels at this flat spot.
The dominant wind regime is frontal, coming mainly from the S, SSW, and SW. These winds bring a steady force, suitable for all levels, without a specific local name.
The climate in Saxony around Leipzig is continental, with cold winters (0 to 5°C) and mild summers (20-25°C). Kitesurfing is possible year-round, especially in winter for snowkiting on the frozen banks.
The best months cover the entire year according to the data, thanks to frequent frontal winds.
The bottom is shallow everywhere, with foot possible near the banks on grassy terrain.
In summer, the lake water reaches 18-22°C; in winter, it drops to 4-8°C, requiring a full wetsuit.
