Plage de Tizzano
France · Corse
The Tizzano beach, located near Sartène in Southern Corsica, is a beautiful small sandy cove at the end of a road lined with megalithic rocks. It is easily accessible from the D48, with parking not too far away, although it can be limited during the high season.
It is a family-friendly spot with nearby amenities such as a restaurant and a beach hut, and the water is crystal clear, perfect for swimming or snorkeling. The beach is about 100 meters wide, surrounded by pink granite on the left and right.
It attracts locals for kitesurfing when the north-west wind picks up, in a wild and preserved atmosphere.

Tizzano beach is oriented south-west, making it ideal for a side-on wind from the north-west, the most frequent in Southern Corsica. Launching is done directly on the fine sandy beach, about 100 meters wide, with enough space to set down the kite without issue.
The navigation area extends in front of the beach, but care must be taken with the submerged pink granite blocks on the left and right sides. Launching is easy thanks to the gradual sandy bottom, with no major obstacles at the shore. With west or south-west winds, the water surface can quickly become choppy with high waves, so it's better to avoid these directions for kiting.
At low tide, the beach gains width and the shore remains navigable, while at high tide the water rises close to the sand without radically changing the areas. It is an exposed spot that works well in thermal in the afternoon during nice summer days.
