Conditions de navigation

The Saint-Félix spot mainly serves as a base for boat trips to areas like Salines or Bois Jolan. With East wind, dominant year-round, it provides perfect side-shore conditions on the southern spots, with a flat to chop water surface inside the reef. Launching is done from the sandy beach, but it is small and surrounded by trees, so take-off requires technique to avoid wind shadow.

By boat, you can quickly reach areas where you can stand for a long time in shallow water, up to 50 cm in some places. Be careful to navigate inside the reef for freeride or foil, as there are small waves outside. In Northeast wind, the wind can become irregular near the coast, better to move offshore. Schools like Just'in Kite provide equipment on-site and take you by boat for 2h30 sessions.

Vent ideal
Edominant
ENE

The ideal conditions are with wind from East to East-Northeast, side-shore regular at 15-25 knots for a clean and consistent water surface.

État de la mer

The water is turquoise and warm, around 30°C, with a flat water surface inside and chop in strong winds. Small waves form outside, ideal for light surfing.

Courants marins

Currents are generally weak in the protected lagoons, but they can strengthen near channels or outside the reef. Tides have little influence on the main spot, with a moderate range in Guadeloupe.

Taille de kite recommandée

Opt for kite sizes of 9 to 12 m² in light trade wind, or 7 to 9 m² when it picks up in high season.

Météo & vent

The wind regime is provided by the East-NE trade winds, blowing at an average of 3 to 5 Beaufort, stronger during the December to April season. February offers the most consistent conditions with pure East wind. The current score is 57/100 with 215 degrees, which is South-West side-off, less optimal than East.

Climat

The climate is warm tropical year-round in Guadeloupe, with pleasant temperatures around 24-30°C. The rainy season runs from June to December, but the wind remains reliable. The best months for kiting are from January to March, with stable and sunny weather.

Profondeur

The depth is gradual with a sandy bottom in the lagoon, allowing for standing for a long time up to 50 meters from the shore at high tide.

Température de l’eau

The water reaches 28-30°C year-round, perfect without a wetsuit in summer, but a lycra protects from the sun and the reef.
