Bray-Dunes

Located at the extreme north of France, on the Belgian border, Bray-Dunes beach is one of the most renowned kitesurfing spots in Hauts-de-France. Vast, wild, and bordered by dunes, it offers an impressive playground where space is never lacking. At low tide, the beach extends for several hundred meters, creating a feeling of total freedom. The spot is known for its raw character, Nordic atmosphere, and sometimes challenging conditions, but also for its ability to provide very nice sessions when the wind is well oriented. It is an iconic spot for riders in search of wide open spaces and authentic navigation.

Location

Detailed information

Navigation takes place in open sea, on a beach exposed to depressions from the North Sea. The wind is often strong, with favorable orientations from west to northwest. Conditions vary greatly with the tide: at low tide, the beach is very wide and allows for comfortable launches, while at high tide the space reduces but remains navigable. The water surface is generally choppy to rough, with swell when the wind and sea intersect. It is a spot suitable for riders comfortable in marine conditions and able to manage sometimes irregular wind.
