Ambleteuse

Located at the mouth of the Slack, between Audresselles and Wimereux, the Ambleteuse beach is a unique spot on the Opal Coast, combining sand, rocks, and a natural environment marked by the tides. Dominated by the Vauban fort, it offers a spectacular setting and typically northern navigation. Less radical than Audresselles but more technical than the large sandy beaches, Ambleteuse attracts riders in search of varied marine conditions, capable of combining chop, waves, and fine tide reading.

Location

Detailed information

Navigation takes place in open sea, with a very marked influence from the tide and the mouth of the Slack. The spot works mainly around mid-tide to high tide, when the depth becomes sufficient and the rocks are covered. The dominant wind is from the west to southwest, arriving side to side-onshore. The water surface is choppy to rough, with waves when the swell is present, while remaining more readable than on the neighboring rocky spots.
