Playa Manzanillo del Mar
Colombia · Bolívar
Located about twenty minutes north of downtown Cartagena, Manzanillo del Mar is a small, quiet coastal village, much less crowded than La Boquilla. Here, the atmosphere is more local, more peaceful, and kitesurfing takes place in an authentic and preserved setting. The beach is wide, lined with palm trees and small inns, stretching for several kilometers. It’s still a confidential spot, perfect for those looking for a mix of calm sessions and immersion in Caribbean culture. The wind is a bit stronger and more consistent than in La Boquilla, and the water is often cleaner.
Historical averages by month — not a live forecast.
The wind blows side-onshore (from the right), making sailing safe and enjoyable. The water surface is choppy, sometimes slightly bumpy at high tide, with small waves breaking gently near the shore. At low tide, there are flatter areas, perfect for freeride and the beginning of freestyle. The space is vast, without obstacles, and the beach is clear enough for easy launching. Some local schools offer lessons and equipment rentals, but the spot remains largely underutilized, ensuring almost private sessions.
