The Roompot Strand spot offers a flat water surface on the Oosterschelde, perfect for all levels. The ideal wind orientation is side-shore from the W or NW, creating stable conditions without too much drift. In case of onshore wind from the northwest, launching is easy directly from the sandy beach.
The navigation area extends wide in front of the beach, with enough space to maneuver without disturbing others. Launching takes place on the wide, clear sand. Be cautious of oysters at the water's edge, wear shoes for launching and falls. Tides have little influence on the spot, but check the coefficients for the Oosterschelde which can have moderate currents.
Free parking along Sophia Boulevard, just steps from the water. A kite school is present on the beach for beginners. There are few waves even in strong winds, it is flat to light chop depending on wind strength.
Ideal conditions are a side-shore W-NW wind between 12 and 20 knots. This provides a smooth water surface and good power without excessive drift risk.
