Strand in Ouddorp, on the coast of South Holland, is a kitesurfing spot located at the western tip of Goeree-Overflakkee. The beach is wide and stretches for several kilometers, with access between beach posts 7 and 9, or from 12,000 to 13,750. It is a popular place for riders due to its open space facing the North Sea.
The parking is about 300-500 meters or a 15-minute walk via the Duinpad. There are public toilets and the area is accessible year-round, with a friendly atmosphere for locals and visitors.
No kite school on site, but beach clubs like Strandtent Bula liven up the area.
Historical averages by month — not a live forecast.
The spot works well with winds from west (W) and northwest (NW), which are side-shore relative to the north-facing beach. These directions bring chop to medium waves on the sandbanks. The riding area is between beach accesses 7 and 9, with breakwaters to respect.
Launching is done directly on the wide beach, but be careful of the sandbanks that make takeoff technical. Beyond the banks, the water is deep, ideal for jumps and freestyle. Strong current present, especially with westerlies. The water conditions vary from chop to medium waves on the banks, smoother offshore.
Parking at Plompe Toren, walk to the spot. Prefer high tide for more depth near the shore.
