Strand Glowe
Allemagne · Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Strand Glowe is a fine sandy beach located on the island of Rügen, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It stretches for about 10 kilometers along the Schaabe, a narrow strip of land in the northeast of the island, protected by a harbor to the east.
The spot is located west of the Glowe harbor, where the bottom drops very shallow, ideal for first sessions in waves. It is a popular place for riders due to its easy access and calm atmosphere, with few bathers near the harbor.
The parking is only 100 meters from the beach, and services like restaurants and playgrounds are nearby.

The Strand Glowe spot offers a chop and small waves water plan, perfect for beginners in wave riding thanks to the harbor's protection that blocks direct waves from the east. The best winds are side-shore or side-on from N, NNW, NW, WNW, confirmed by several sources and the local user; an east wind (onshore) provides flat water near the harbor.
Launching is ideally done at the harbor where the buhnen (jetties) are shorter and wider, with fewer bathers. The navigation area extends west of the harbor, along the beach, with a large area for takeoff. Be cautious of the areas east of the harbor where waves can rebound against the long jetty.
No significant tidal influence, the spot works well in all tide conditions. The sandy bottom makes falls easier, and the wide beach allows for freestyle or wave sessions without hassle.
