Mesquer

The Port du Toul Ru spot offers an ideal side-shore orientation with prevailing winds from W to NW, sweeping the bay regularly without too much wind shadowing the water surface. The launch takes place from the small sandy beach at high tide, where there is enough space to take off without disturbing the anchored boats. At low tide, the beach dries out significantly, making launching technical and limiting navigation to the central area of the bay.

The navigation area is bounded by the pier to the north and Pointe du Touru, with a sheltered water surface that remains flat to chop even in strong winds. Be cautious of the seasonal mooring areas of the Cercle Nautique de Quimiac, which must be avoided. Launching is done on the beach or the nearby grassy promenade, but the narrow access requires parking vehicles upstream. The best sessions are in side-on from the SW, which pushes towards the bay without the risk of offshore drift.

Local feature: the proximity of the Toul Ru nautical base allows for sailing courses, but the spot remains little frequented, perfect for riding quietly outside the summer season.
