Historical averages by month — not a live forecast.
The Lac d'Orient is a large inland water body offering very regular and predictable conditions. The dominant wind comes from the west to northwest, creating conditions generally side-shore to side-on at the Plage de Mesnil-Saint-Père. The absence of significant tides makes the spot accessible all day without major variations in conditions.
Entry is directly from the sandy beach, with a clear and spacious take-off area. The water surface is very flat, without waves, making it an ideal spot for freestyle and freeride. Navigation is allowed from the first weekend of March to the third weekend of October. Special attention should be paid to irregular winds that may occur, especially in the late afternoon. Other areas of the lake (Cale des pêcheurs, Cale des plongeurs, Lusigny, Géraudot) offer alternatives for experienced riders.
Access to the lake is easy from Troyes, with parking and complete nautical facilities. Several kitesurfing clubs and schools are present for teaching and equipment rental.
