Kermor

Kermor beach, located in Combrit in southern Brittany, offers a vast stretch of fine white sand bordered by dunes. It is situated halfway between Sainte-Marine and Île Tudy, in a wild and preserved setting with a view of the pointe de Combrit.

About 1.5 km long and facing southeast, it is accessible via a large free parking area and a path through the dunes. It is a popular spot for its gentle slope for swimming and its proximity to authentic villages.

Behind the beach, a natural polder and the bike path add to the peaceful charm of the place.

Location

Detailed information

Kermor beach works well with winds from west or southwest, arriving in side-shore or side-on relative to its southeast orientation, creating a stable water surface for freeride. Launching is easy on the fine sand due to the gentle slope, with a wide take-off area on the beach itself.

The water surface varies with the tides: at high tide, the space is reduced but usable, while at low tide, the beach extends widely, offering more room to navigate without disturbing bathers. The navigation area extends along the entire length of the beach, up to Île Tudy on the right, but one must remain vigilant near fishing areas and walkers.

No dedicated structures for kites, but local schools offer kitesurfing courses nearby. The spot is not frequented by pro kiters, making it ideal for a quiet session, with often consistent wind in season due to Atlantic depressions.
