Fort-Mahon-Plage

At the southern entrance of the Authie bay, the Fort-Mahon beach is one of the most well-known and practiced spots in northern France. Huge, straight, and bordered by dunes, it offers a spectacular playground where space is never lacking at low tide. Very oriented towards sliding sports, Fort-Mahon is renowned for the consistency of its wind and its clear conditions, ideal for freeride, big air, and long crossings. It is an iconic, accessible, and dynamic spot, frequented by a large community of riders.

Location

Detailed information

Navigation takes place in open sea, on a very wide beach at low tide and narrower at high tide. The wind mainly comes from west to northwest, arriving side to side-onshore. At low tide, the vastness of the beach allows for very comfortable launches and smooth navigation. At high tide, the space reduces but remains usable. The water surface is most often choppy to rough, with regular waves when the swell enters the bay.
