Carnac

The Ty Bihan beach, located to the west of the large Carnac beach along the Légenèse boulevard, offers a stunning view of the Quiberon Bay. It is a relaxing place for all ages with its 400 meters of fine white sand, although the left side is scattered with rocks.

Close to the Saint-Colomban point, it is accessible by a pedestrian path or the bike path from the Légenèse beach. In summer, a children's club sets up at the point, and the beach is non-smoking.

Off-season, it is quieter and ideal for enjoying the spot in peace.

Location

Detailed information

Ty Bihan beach is oriented southwest, making it ideal for a side-on or side-shore wind coming from the southwest or west-southwest, typical of the region. The water surface varies with the tides: at high tide, the navigation space expands in Quiberon Bay, while at low tide, the rocks on the left limit the area to the right side.

Launching takes place on the sandy part on the right to avoid the rocks, with a take-off area on the wide beach off-season. Riders often leave by boat from Ty Bihan to navigate the entire bay, avoiding summer restrictions on direct departures from the beaches of Carnac. The main navigation area remains offshore towards the bay, with a secure space for freeride.

Local peculiarity: in summer, kitesurfing is prohibited from the beaches of Carnac, including Ty Bihan, due to swimming and children's clubs; prefer nearby spots like Sainte-Barbe in Plouharnel or Kerhillo in Erdeven, 5-10 minutes by car.
