Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys

The beach of Goh Velin is oriented directly south, which favors side-shore to side-on winds when the wind comes from the south or west. Winds from south to west are the most effective, as they remain parallel to the beach and create a choppy water surface with small waves. The launch area is wide and sandy, with average space for takeoff and landing, and grass nearby to inflate the kite without hassle.

Depending on the tides, the water surface varies: at high tide, the navigation space widens and the waves remain small; at low tide, the beach extends but care must be taken not to get stuck in the sand. The navigation area is oceanic but protected by the gulf, with good visibility and few obstacles. Beginners can navigate close to the shore, while experienced riders have space for freeride or small waves.

Local feature: presence of schools like the Club Nautique du Rohu for equipment rentals. Avoid swimming areas in summer where the beach is supervised. The spot works well year-round with thermal winds in summer.
