Detailed information
Le Grand Travers works very well with thermal wind from the southwest, especially in summer. With Tramontane (northwest wind), the spot offers a completely flat and regular playground. The wind orientation relative to the beach varies with conditions: in west wind, the wind comes side-on, while in Tramontane, the wind blows side-shore.
The kitesurfing area is well marked and defined with an official launch channel (beach access no. 60). The launch is done directly from the sandy beach. The water surface generally remains very flat, especially in thermal conditions and with Tramontane, making it an ideal terrain for freestyle and learning. Caution: the Tramontane is an offshore wind that pushes out to sea, requiring appropriate supervision and safety measures.
