Algajola
The Aregno beach in Algajola, Balagne, is the largest beach in the area with its 1.4 km of fine sand. It stretches between the citadel of Algajola and the Varcale point, offering crystal clear water and a view of the surrounding mountains.
It is a popular spot for kitesurfing and windsurfing, especially on windy days. The northern area is calmer with small dunes, while the area near the citadel is lively in summer with restaurants and private beaches.
Easy access via the road along the beach, with parking and a lifeguard station in season. Dogs are allowed on a leash.

Posizione
Informazioni dettagliate
Aregno beach is oriented west, ideal for the Libecciu which blows in side-on or side-shore from the southwest or west, perfect for stable sailing. In case of a strong Mistral from the northwest, we prefer the bay of Calvi 15 km away, as here the wind can become onshore and choppy.
Launching is done directly from the fine, wide, and easy sand, with a good take-off area in the center or north of the beach. The navigation area extends over 1.4 km long, but stay offshore to avoid swimmers and watercraft near the shore in high season.
The water surface varies with the tides: calm and smooth in light wind, but chop to wave moderate under Libecciu. School on site for courses, and the sheltered bay ensures relative safety. Sailing possible 1 day out of 2 or 3 in summer, especially thermal in the afternoon.
