Rogliano

The Macinaggio beach, located in Rogliano on the Cap Corse in Upper Corsica, is a narrow strip of sand north of the port. It is a popular spot for riders due to its beautiful water and varied water conditions.

The beach is narrow but long, set in a natural environment surrounded by typical landscapes of Cap Corse. It has a calm atmosphere off-season, but it gets crowded in summer with bathers and water sports schools.

Easy access from Bastia via the D80, free parking nearby. The spot is well-suited for intermediates looking for flat to chop.

Informazioni dettagliate

The spot at Macinaggio beach offers a flat to chop water surface in general, with small onshore waves and nice waves to the north of the bay when there is swell. The ideal wind orientation is SE side-shore, which comes perfectly onto the southeast-exposed beach. The launch area is on the narrow but long sandy beach, medium-sized for take-off and landing, be careful to choose the free space well.

The sailing area extends into the bay, wide in front of the beach, but you need to stay vigilant on the sides. No dependence on tides, the spot works the same all the time. In SE wind, the water surface is smooth in the center, more choppy towards the edges. Local feature: presence of boats in the port and the area, avoid sailing too close to the pier and fishing zones. Sailing school and water activities on site, so shared space.

For the session, launch yourself at the center of the north beach of the port, ride in the bay while keeping an eye on maritime traffic. In summer, the spot is lively but manageable for experienced riders who anticipate.
