Plage de l’Ostriconi
France · Corse
The Ostriconi beach, located in Palasca in Haute-Corse, is a beautiful stretch of wild sand bordered by the river of the same name and the dunes of the maquis. Between Ile-Rousse and Saint-Florent, this spot at the beginning of the Agriates desert offers a preserved setting with crystal clear waters ideal for kitesurfing.
It is a place appreciated by riders for its generous space and natural atmosphere, despite a somewhat steep access via a path from the parking lot. The 700-meter beach is surrounded by rocks at both ends and is monitored in summer.
Open all year round when the wind is present, it charms with its simplicity and its view of the surrounding mountains.
Medie storiche per mese — non è una previsione live.
The Ostriconi beach is oriented northwest, which favors onshore or side-on winds coming from the southwest, a recommended direction for optimal sessions. The launch area is wide on this sandy bay, with about 60 meters of depth where you can stand, making launching and landing easier even in summer when it is allowed.
The water surface varies from flat to chop, with small to medium waves possible depending on wind strength, perfect for freeride or light waves. The navigation area extends across the entire bay, but one must remain vigilant to the rocks at both ends of the beach that frame the spot.
No influence from tides on kitesurfing conditions, making the spot reliable at any time. The launch area is of medium size, fine sand, ideal for all levels, but the onshore wind requires good control to avoid gusts due to the nearby terrain.
