États-Unis · New Jersey
Corson's Inlet, located in Ocean City, New Jersey, is a natural kitesurfing spot in the heart of Corson's Inlet State Park, preserved and underdeveloped. It is a favorite place for local riders due to its consistent wind and laid-back atmosphere, away from the crowded urban beaches of Ocean City.
The site offers wide access to the sands of the park, with a direct launch from the beach. The area is known for its varied conditions depending on the tides, alternating between flatter areas and choppy zones, with sometimes waves when the wind is strong and offshore.
The ideal wind mainly comes in side-shore or side-on depending on the direction, with favored directions coming from the NW and W. The water surface heavily depends on the tides: at low tide, there are flat areas near the sandbars, while at high tide, the chop increases and waves can form if the wind is offshore.
The launch is directly from the park beach, accessible via Bay Avenue (County Hwy 619). The take-off area is wide and clear, but avoid areas close to the channel where the current can be strong. The sandbars at the mouth of the inlet are popular navigation areas, especially at low tide.
