Alacati Surf Paradise Club, located in Çeşme on the Aegean coast of Turkey, is a world reference center for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Situated on the Alaçatı bay, it benefits from a protected, shallow, and very consistent water area, making it an ideal spot for safe progression. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a community of international riders and a well-organized setup around the school and rentals.

The spot is especially known for its summer thermal conditions, with consistent wind and flat water, attracting both beginners and experienced freestylers. The club's facilities – school, equipment, storage, living space – create a true watersport village where one can spend the entire day without leaving the practice area.

Location

Detailed information

Alacati Surf Paradise Club is located on a closed bay, protected from sea waves, which provides a very stable water area, especially in summer. The wind blows mainly in a side-on to side-shore direction relative to the beach, with a dominant orientation from NW to W, allowing for navigation without being pushed offshore. The practice area is wide and clear, with a well-defined and secure launch area, suitable for both beginners and more experienced riders.

The spot works very well in summer thermal wind, the meltem, which rises almost every afternoon between June and September. Conditions are then very consistent, with flat or slightly choppy water, ideal for learning, freestyle, or freeride. Outside this period, the wind can be more irregular, but the spot remains navigable as soon as the wind exceeds 15–18 knots.

The area is supervised by the club, with clearly defined navigation zones and a space reserved for beginners. The launch and landing areas are well marked, which limits conflicts between riders. The spot is mainly suitable for freeride and freestyle practices, with few natural waves but a very consistent water area.

Risks & Safety

  • The spot is generally safe, with a well-defined practice area supervised by the club.
  • Beginner areas are separated from more experienced rider areas, which limits collisions.
  • In case of very strong winds, it is recommended to stay in the central area of the bay and avoid overly exposed edges.
